How To Hire a Quality Electrician

Residential ElectricianWhether you’re building a new home or installing a new home theatre system, you want to be sure to hire a professional electrician. Residential wiring must be done up to code to make sure you and your loved ones are safe. You know you want to hire a pro, but if you type “electrician” into a search engine, you get thousands of listings. You begin to wonder, “How do I know which one is any good?” Allow our team at Countryside Electric, Inc. to offer a few tips.

1. Gather references.

Ask your friends, family members, and coworkers whether they’ve had any electrical work done in their homes over the last year. Get at least three to five trusted recommendations. If you’re new to the Columbus area, you can also use service review websites and customer reviews to get firsthand feedback.

2. Do some research.

Get out your list of referrals, and do some digging. Check out each electrician’s website, and look for credentials, years of service, and range of services. We also recommend that you give them a call to get a feel for their professionalism and customer service.

3. Get a written quote.

When you are narrowing down your options, don’t forget to gather written quotes. Look not only at the bottom line, but also at what’s included. Are they using quality materials? Does the quote include projected hours of labor (be sure to question estimates that are much higher or lower than the others)? Take the entire quote into consideration.

4. Trust your instincts.

At the end of the day, you have to trust who is in your home. If you’ve done your research and feel comfortable with an electrician who checks out, then go with it.

If you live in Ohio, be sure to keep Countryside Electric of Columbus under consideration. We have extensive experience in both residential and commercial electric, and we’ll gladly answer all your questions about your home project. Plus, we even offer free estimates.
